With three major concerts by the acclaimed Greek performers Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Melina Aslanidou and Iota Nega, the Municipality of Ayia Napa will this year celebrate the 40th anniversary of its International Festival, which will take place on September 27-29
The International Festival of Ayia Napa turns forty years old this year and the Municipality of Ayia Napa will duly celebrate the event by holding three major concerts with the great Greek performers Eleni Tsaligopoulou (Sunday 29/09), Melina Aslanidou (Saturday 28/09) and Iota Nega (27 /09).
The beginning will be with the concert of Iota Nega "Tributes", where the great performer together with 7-member Scheme and the two young and promising performers Paris Paraschos and Lefteris Pitsillidis, will make a retrospective of Greek song with tributes to composers and lyricists from the golden age of Greek song, without omitting her personal successes that were so loved by the public. The orchestrations and music editing belong to Admitos Pitsillidis.
Next on Saturday, September 28, the official opening of the Festival, the concert with Melina Aslanidou. One of the leading performers of artful, folk song with a "magical" tinge, who has performed songs from her rich personal repertoire that were loved from the first hearing, have conquered the Panhellenic world and are timeless gems of the modern repertoire.
With absolute respect and great love for folk song, she will present a unique program at the 40th Ayia Napa International Festival, with a group of excellent musicians by her side, with favorite songs from her personal repertoire as well as great popular hits.
The 40th Ayia Napa International Festival will close on Sunday, September 29 with the great concert given by the renowned artist Eleni Tsaligopoulou, who will present her great hits as well as those precious songs that make up our musical heritage: folk songs, rebetika and traditional songs, songs by great composers and creators, classics and newer ones as well as those we loved with her voice in the first performance, everything is sweetly mixed in an exciting concert proposal.
She is joined by a line-up of excellent and flexible musicians, in a performance that not only highlights Tsaligopoulos' sensitivity, power and passion as a performer, but also the ability of the songs themselves to inspire us, entertain us, take us on a journey.
