The great artists of Traditional Music Areti Ketime and Stefanos Pelekanis at the 6th Festival of Traditional Tastes of Ayia Napa. It will take place on August 09-11 in the Central Square of the Municipality.
The Municipality of Ayia Napa organizes for the 6th consecutive year in its Central Square, from 09-11 August 2024, the Festival of Traditional Flavors and promises with the rich artistic program it has prepared but also with the various activities/handicrafts such as traditional knife making, tying traditional chair, basket weaving, etc., the stands that will operate in the area with genuine traditional Cypriot products and delicacies, to give local and foreign visitors unforgettable moments and unique experiences.
The opening will take place on Friday, August 9 at 8:00 p.m. the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Mr. Andreas A. Grigoriou and the Festival is under the auspices of the Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Dr. Maria Panagiotou.
The artistic part of the program of the first day, Friday 09 August, begins with the Music and Dance Performance "Footprints of our place" by the Cultural Group "The Tradition" of the Liopetriou Municipal Apartment, followed by greetings from the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettos and the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Mr. Andreas A. Grigoriou and the concert "Pedemi tou ΄erotas" with the Cypriot Artists Lisa Theofanous, Dimitris Mesimeris and Lefteris Pitsillidis, who will be accompanied by a 7-member Music Band.
The second night of the Festival (Saturday, August 10) begins with the Music and Dance Performance of a Cypriot Traditional Wedding presented by the Dance Group for Adults and Children of the Sotiras Municipal Apartment. This is followed by the "Soul Tradition" concert with the beloved traditional artists Areti Ketime and Stefanos Pelekani, who unite their voices and souls creating a bridge that unites every corner of the Greek space, from Cyprus to Epirus, from Thrace in Crete and from Asia Minor, the Dodecanese, the Pontus and Constantinople, the Ionian Islands and Lower Italy.
The third and last day (Sunday, August 11) of the 6th Festival begins with a tribute to the Muse of the Cypriot tradition Kyriakou Pelagia, which will be performed by the Dance Group of the Municipality of Agia Napa and the "Kimon" Xylotympos Dance Group with their Music and Dance Performance
Traditional Flavors. The evening will close with the concert and Music and Dance Performance "Our Roots".
Entry to the 6th Festival of Traditional Flavors is free for the public.
