The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia is organizing the event "Memory and Honor", which will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 8:15 pm, at the "Mikis Theodorakis" Park, in the Deryneia Self-Housing Settlement.
The event is dedicated to preserving historical memory and paying tribute to the people who experienced the tragic consequences of the coup and the Turkish invasion of 1974. The program includes stories, recitations and testimonies from the events of the coup and the Turkish invasion, illuminating personal experiences of uprooting, refugee status and the struggle for survival. Through the narratives and artistic interventions, the event seeks to keep collective memory alive, to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of 1974 and to transmit to the younger generations the values โโof freedom, democracy and peace.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia invites all citizens to attend the event and pay tribute to the heroes, the missing, the fallen and all those who experienced the tragic consequences of the coup and the Turkish invasion of 1974.
