The Municipality of Ayia Napa is organizing the Sotira Traditional Festival in the Sotira Municipal District for the 13th consecutive year.
An event that aims to highlight the traditional element of the place of Sotira through song, music, dance, traditional food and an exhibition of Cypriot professions.
The 13th Sotira Traditional Festival will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 20:00 in the courtyard of the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Sotira with a rich artistic program entitled: "Cyprus - Aegean" with the Naxos violinist Nikos Hatzopoulos and the Cypriot performer Michalis Hatzimichael. Their presence on stage is expected to give the authenticity of the traditional songs of the two islands and with the melodic violin the audience will enjoy a fantastic beautiful journey to the Mediterranean.
They will be joined by Cypriot performer Dimitra Hadjimichael, while the Sotiras Municipal Dance Group for Adults and Children will present Cypriot and island dances.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience traditional crafts such as woodcarving, pottery, a pumpkin workshop and more, while enjoying free palouze. Younger visitors will have the opportunity to make their own clay pots, create traditional shadow puppets and crafts themed around Cypriot tradition.
During the event, traditional Cypriot food, drinks, sweets and delicacies will be available for purchase from the organized groups of the Sotiras Municipal District, Ayia Napa Municipality.
