The autumn migration of birds is celebrated by BirdLife Cyprus.

We are delighted to invite you to the Autumn Bird Migration Celebration on Sunday 20 October, a unique event dedicated to the migratory birds of the Cape Greco Peninsula.
Bird migration is one of nature's most amazing phenomena. From small birds weighing just a few grams to large predators that take advantage of warm air masses to travel, the wondrous journeys of birds over seas, mountains and deserts fascinate young and old.
The Cape Greco Peninsula is a Natura 2000 protected area and is an important stopover for many migratory birds.
During the event, young and old will have the opportunity to participate in activities unique to Cape Greco, such as bird ringing and bird watching, fun educational games and crafts for the whole family, nest building for baby birds and more.

Program of activities:
9:00 – 10:00 Bird ringing demonstration
Location: Near Agioi Anargyro excursion site (https://maps.app.goo.gl/wA88VX37HC2A81VCA) After the ringing demonstration is over we gather at the Cape Greco Environmental Information and Education Center (ECEC) for the rest of the activities.
10:00 – 11:00 Bird watching
Location: In the outdoor area of the Cabo Greco Environmental Information and Education Center. We will provide binoculars for the best enjoyment of our feathered friends. Special wheelchairs with hand levers for use by people with mobility problems will be available after consultation with the staff of KPE Kavo Greko.
10:00 – 11:30 Creative crafts for children on the theme of birds

10:00 – 13:00 Documentary screenings at KPE Cabo Greco
10:00 – 13:00 Game "What trip is this?"
We play and learn about the journey of migratory birds and the dangers they may encounter.

11:30 – 13:00 Nest making workshop for small birds
Suitable for everyone, including families. Each family can build only one nest. There is a limited number of seats. Registration required at this link: https://forms.gle/4KT9RBKbmUR5cPY69

During the event you can also visit the exhibition space of the Cabo Greco Environmental Information and Education Center and learn more about the rich natural heritage of the Peninsula.
