The purpose of the workshop is the practical application of basic first aid

The Famagusta Youth Center of the Cyprus Youth Organization, in collaboration with the St John Association and Brigade, organize a first aid workshop entitled: "First Aid at Work - Emergencies with a defibrillator"

The purpose of the workshop is the practical application of basic first aid, with the aim that the participants can:

perform CORRECT chest compressions with normal script or in script covid-19,
perform rescue breaths.

control the risks to themselves, the victim, and any bystanders.

assess whether the victim is responsive and breathing normally.

use PPE and call the immediate pre-hospital care services (ambulance).
perform CPR.

they activate the AEA and attach the adhesive electrodes to the correct spot on the victim's chest.
apply verbal and/or visual instructions of the AEA.

ensure that no one touches the victim during rhythm analysis, shock delivery and chest compressions during basic CPR

The workshops are aimed at people for whom it is very important to hold the First Aid diploma in their workplaces and they need to know the steps to follow when they find themselves in an emergency, both to assess and to deal with the situation.

ü All trainees will be given hand-outs folder and the "First Aid in an Emergency" booklet free of charge, which you can see on our website www.stjohn.org.cy

ü A Certificate and a plastic identity card with a 3-year duration will be given.

The workshop will take place in two phases: November 2 and November 9, Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 13:30 p.m., at Famagusta Youth Center which is housed in the Social Benefits Center of the Sotiras Municipality.

Attending the workshops is free.
