From November 25 to December 10, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence remind us that violence against women and girls is the most widespread human rights violation.
One in three women has suffered physical and/or sexual violence, while every 10 minutes a femicide is committed somewhere in the world.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, as part of the UNiTE by 2030 campaign, has adopted the slogan:
“Orange the World: End Violence Against Women Now!”
The color orange represents hope, resilience, and courage.
SUP to STOP
The Cyprus East Coast Paddlers Stand Up Paddleboarding team of the Famagusta District Sailing Club – Fdsc-Begafigo joins forces with the Syros Stand Up Paddleboarding Team – SYROS SUP and “orange” our world!
On Saturday, November 15, they will hold a 10 km SUP course and paddle in the sea of Agia Triada (Paralimni) and in the Finikas area (Syros), sending a strong message of information and awareness:
END GENDER VIOLENCE – ENOUGH! BREAK THE SILENCE!
