In the beautiful coastal areas of Cyprus, Protaras and the cape of Cabo Greco, one of the most demanding and impressive endurance races, the Protaras SwimRun Cyprus Solo 13, will be held on October 2024, 2024.
The race is organized by SwimRun Cyprus in collaboration with the Municipality of Paralimni-Derynia.
In a SwimRun race that, as its name suggests, includes two sports, swimming and running. The athletes will have to cover one of the three available distances of 5, 13 or 19 kilometers with continuous alternations of running and swimming.
Participating in a SwimRun race sets new limits, tests the endurance of the athletes, while at the same time giving a unique experience.
Athletes in swimming are entitled to use a pull buoy on their feet, paddles in their hands, while throughout the race they wear running shoes.
Athletes will start their big effort in front of the Fig Tree beach, head left and then turn around and make their way to the forest park of Cabo Greco.
Athletes will swim at the famous beaches of Fig Tree, Green Bay, the Islands, and Konnos, among others, and run along the coastline of the Protaras seafront and the forest park of Cabo Greco.
Throughout the route, there will be refueling stations with water, electrolytes and fruit at regular intervals. Also, during the swim, safety boats will monitor the athletes and provide any assistance if necessary.
After the completion of the race, awards will be made for the first three places in the Men's and Women's categories for each distance.
It is worth noting that the Protaras SwimRun was the first SwimRun in the eastern Mediterranean and is still the only one in the wider region.
