In the trivial expression, every crisis hides an opportunity and, as the initial shock subsides, society, economy, institutions must find their footing in the new environment under development.

It is a fact that instead of increasing jobs, rising unemployment and underemployment rates, and instead of giving more social protection to vulnerable groups, larger armies of excluded citizens are being created and are one of the most critical issues for the modern state. which without a doubt, the ability to respond and adapt directly to the needs of its people is considered the highest need.

The state must be anthropocentric. To understand the problems and difficulties of the citizens, to provide, to care for the weakest. The problems are not solved with the logic of numbers, but with the understanding of the financial possibilities that the Cypriot citizen has today.

Of course, it is difficult to understand someone if you have not "worn" his own shoes, if you have not walked in his own way, but it is not impossible.

We need to recognize the importance of policies and systems that promote the well-being of people in order to achieve sustainable economic growth and stability.

In a prosperity economy, public resources are available to improve people's well-being. Prosperity means that people are healthier, more innovative and productive, work and pay taxes knowing that the state manages all this wealth properly.

Prosperity policy and economic policy are interrelated. The Republic of Cyprus should strengthen the links between gender equality policy and economic policy. Promoting gender equality, reducing inequalities, creating more employment opportunities for women and contributing to the reconciliation of work and privacy are some of the key objectives for sustainable economic development.

Investing in prosperity makes economic sense even in times of economic downturn like the one we are going through from 2012 until today and may continue to exist. Studies show that investing in education and training in general gives a significant boost to economic growth.

EDEK's philosophy returns to the forefront as a necessity and is justified in practice for the projects of social justice, the "welfare state", public values, the public interest and political transparency.

A well-thought-out energy by adjusting its goals and introducing new sustainable approaches, which have a positive social footprint, which can be the catalyst that will start the next day of "new development" for our country.

When as a state you want to bring a new wind of change, a new perception, you have to broadcast it every day. Because the political leadership must be united, to respect the citizen in order to claim his respect. It is a two-way relationship!
