Scratches on wooden furniture are easy to make, especially when there are small children or pets in the house.
However, there are 15 tricks you can apply and as strange as it sounds, you will make the wooden furniture look like new.
Find one close to the shade of your wood and melt it to use on the scratch. Place the candle on the scratch with a knife smearing the butter.
Mix ½ cup of vinegar with a corresponding amount of olive oil and rub the mixture on the scratches.
Paint the dark furniture with a little iodine. Put a small amount on a cotton ball, paint the wood and then wipe off the excess with a paper towel.
You can also use high fermentation coffee in the same way on dark wood. Alternatively, rub the coffee pieces on the wood with a cotton swab.
Just rub the inside of the nut on the scratch. The scratch will fill in and smooth out. You can also try rubbing some walnut oil with a soft cloth.
Apply some oil-based paint with a brush. Use a color that is a little darker than the furniture finish. This method, however, does not work on polyurethane finishes.
Paint small scratches with an oil-based eyebrow pencil.
For larger dots, rub peanut butter on top and leave for at least an hour. Then you can wipe off the excess peanut butter.
Try wiping the scratch with some petroleum jelly and leaving it there overnight. This method aims to fill in the scratches.
Apply car varnish on the wood surface. Do not wipe off the excess at the end.
Cover your scratches with some mayonnaise and leave it there for two or three days before wiping off the excess. Mayonnaise oils will fill the wood and crack.
Dip one teaspoon of black tea into a cup and a few tablespoons of warm water. Leave it for 2 or 3 minutes. If you leave it for a longer time, your tea will be darker, so leave the tea in the water based on the color of your furniture.
Apply it to the scratch with a cotton cloth. Wipe off the excess with a paper towel. More than one application may be required.
Make a paste of mineral oil and pumice and rub your mixture on the etched area. Use a cloth to wipe the area and smooth it with a dry cloth.
Mix equal parts of lemon juice and olive oil. Use a lint-free cloth to rub the scratch in the same direction until it disappears. This works well on small scratches.
You can also use a marker to match the color of your wood.
