On December 23, the Orthodox Church honors the Ten Martyrs of Crete, Saint Niphon, Bishop of Constantinople, Saint Naum, the Illuminator and Preacher of Bulgaria, and Saint Paul, Archbishop of Neocaesarea, while it is also the commemoration of the inauguration of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.
