The countdown begins for the opening of the Triodion and the celebration of Carnival.
The Triodium, which marks the beginning of the Carnival season, opens on Sunday, February 1, 2026, a day also known as the Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee.
Ash Wednesday in 2026 will be celebrated on Thursday, February 12, while Ash Monday falls on February 23, offering the first three days of the year.
This is followed by Holy Week and Easter, which in 2026 is celebrated on Sunday, April 12, with Easter Monday on April 13.
