Epic qualification to the "8" of the Australian Open was achieved by the Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas, scoring a victory with 3-2 sets.
In a match-thriller lasting 3 hours and 23 minutes, Stefanos Tsitsipas, although he started the match against Taylor Fritz with his left hand, managed to turn the image against him and give an appointment with his next opponent, Yannick Siner.
The Greek champion, although he lost the first set 6-4, found the solutions and responded with the same score in the second set, bringing the match to a draw. Then Taylor Fritz took the lead again with 6-4 making it 2-1 in sets. Stefanos Tsitsipas, however, reducing the mistakes, managed to take the fourth set with 6-3, leading the match to extra time and the fifth set.
There, although the American was ahead with 2-1 games, Stefanos Tsitsipas equalized to 2-2, with the two tennis players going hand in hand to the score up to 4-4, where the Greek champion with a clear mind managed to win it with 6- 4 getting an epic qualifier to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
This was the third match between the No. 4 in the World Rankings and the American, No. 22, with Stefanos Tsitsipas counting two victories, both matches took place in 2019.
