The national team Motokros is undertaking a new mission, to compete in the biggest race of the year, in Motokros of the Nations, which will take place in the Netherlands on the legendary track of Assen on the weekend of September 28-29.

Following the team's successful appearance at this year's European Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria, in early June, where it finished 3rd in the overall standings, the national team is invited to take part in the world's top national team event where it will have the opportunity to compete with the biggest stars. Motokros such as World Champion Tim Gajser "the King in the Sand" and last year's World Champion Jeffrey Herlings, the American fighter Jason Anderson as well as the top riders of the participating countries.

The race of nations (Motocross des Nations)

The Motocross des Nations race is an annual motocross race where riders representing their country as a team, as the winning country emerges by combining the results of its drivers. This offers suspense and adrenaline as everything can change even the checkered flag. For this reason, it attracts huge interest from the spectators and has been established in the circles of motor sports as the "Olympiacos of Motokros".

The match has been held since 1947, with the British team winning for the first time and the US team winning the record with 22.

Cyprus has participated in the League of Nations two more times, in 2005 in Erne, France and in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motorway in Italy.

The flag of our country will be represented in the match of the Nations with Christos Tsangaras, champion in the MX1 category, Aristo Georgiou who competes in the MX2 category, finishing in 3rd place and in his first appearance in the category and Chrysanthos Georgiou, who also competes in the category MX2 again this year finished the championship in second place. The champion Tsangaras will compete in the MXGP category, Aristos Georgiou will run in the MX2 category and Chrysanthos Georgiou will participate in the OREN category.

The mission will be accompanied in the Netherlands by the President of the Cyprus Motorcycle Federation Zanetos Koumasis and the team manager of the team Kyriakos Kavazis.

Christos Tsangaras, who is 23 years old and has won 3 championships in the big category, will be the flag bearer, MX1. Also this year he won 3rd place in the European competition of Samokov in Bulgaria.
Chrysanthos Georgiou is one of the most evolving and talented athletes of recent years and competes in the MX2 category. He started his career at the age of 18 and in a very short time with his stubbornness and talent he managed to reach the high level of MX2.

Aristos Georgiou started competing at a young age, winning the championship in all the categories he competed in, last year he was crowned MX4 champion and this year at the age of 16 he successfully competed in the MX2 category, winning third place in his first appearance in the championship.
