Ferrari has introduced the Daytona SP3, a limited edition supercar that complements the "Icona" series along with the Monza SP1 & SP2. The name of the new hypercar pays tribute to the success of the brand in its legendary 24-hour race Daytona.
The highly impressive and aerodynamic body was designed by his team Flavio manzoni, combining elements of yesterday with today. The 5-spoke wheels are worn with the special Pirelli P Zero Corsa model (265/30 / ZR20 front & 345/30 / ZR21 rear, while the rear is more aggressive thanks to the horizontal LED strip, the double exhaust nozzle and the diffuser made of carbon fiber Ferrari with the highest passive aerodynamic performance (key two ducts at the rear of the floor that increase the production of vertical force, while special attention was paid to keeping the weight low (1.485 kg, distributed 44/56 front / rear) using exotic materials.
The interior refers directly to a luxury racing car, with a very low driving position and the seats integrated in the self-supporting body with a significant tilt to the rear. The dashboard upholstered in matte leather is relatively simple, having an infotainment system inside the 16-inch digital instrument panel. Finally, there is only one manettino on the steering wheel, as the designers have adopted the touch technology for many functions.
Soul of Daytona SP3, the most powerful thermal engine ever built by the brand in Maranello. It is a V12, 6,5 liters with 840 hp / 9.250 rpm and 697 Nm / 7.250 rpm. The work of the beastly engine is transferred to the rear wheels via an F1 dual-clutch transmission, 7-speed and -of course- differential lock.
As expected, the performance touches the realm of fantasy, as the 0-100 acceleration lasts just 2,85΄΄, for the 0-200 km / h 7,4΄΄ is required and the final speed stops at 340 km. /time.
In closing, note that the Daytona SP3 will be built in just 599 copies at a cost of about 2 million euros / each but do not rush to disburse because they are already capped but each of them, has already found its "home". The 499 will be given to the owners of Monza and the 100 to selected collectors, customers of the brand.
