With a beautiful tribute to Asia Minor, the first day of the events of the 23th Ayia Napa International Festival ended last Friday (September 38) evening.
Four Cypriot performers, Niki Antoniou Karaiskou, Eleni Mavroudi, Athina Lianou and Maria Vardaki, accompanied by the "Orpheas" Music Scheme under the direction and editing of the program by ΄Admitos Pitsillidis and Vasos Argyridis presented the tribute with their amazing voices and interpretations "What to remember and what to forget."
Songs written by great Greek composers and lyricists about the Asia Minor Catastrophe as well as traditional songs of Asia Minor were heard. The tribute was interspersed with dance moments from the "Kimon" Dance Ensembles of Xylotympos and the Municipality of Agia Napa.
The dedication was preceded by the half-hour performance "On the Paths of Tradition" by the "Kimon" Dance Ensembles of Xylotympos and the Municipality of Agia Napa. Michalis Hatzimichael, Dimitra Hatzimichael, Savvas Stefanou and Nikolas Kremastos also participated.
Awarding the souvenirs of the Festival to the participants, the Mayor Mr. Christos Zannettou, thanked the artists for the excellent evening they gave to the spectators as well as all those who attended and honored with their presence the first day of the Festival's events.
Tonight, the second day of the Festival, the great concert "What shall we say now" by the great Greek performer Eleonora Zouganelis stands out.
