The Municipal Theater Sotiras hosts tomorrow Wednesday, 12 December the shocking performance of Loula Anagnostaki "The Sound of the Gun" from the New Stage of THOK.
One of the most important works of Greek drama, the play "The sound of the gun" by Loula Anagnostaki, is coming up for the first time in Cyprus with the participation of the famous Greek actress Rania Schiza.
The show is touring in Sotira on Wednesday, December 12 at 20:30 at the Municipal Theater Sotira.

The opening work of the New Stage of THOK has as its central theme the strong bond between mother and child that, no matter how much it is tested by conflicts, tensions and crises, remains unbreakable.
Loula Anagnostaki, the best Greek playwright of the 20th century and one of the most important writing voices in Europe, as in each of her works and in The Sound of the Gun, cuts the souls of her heroes with writing mastery. This is a riveting text that captures with truth, humor and emotion the human need for communication and mutual understanding, focusing on the unique and incomparably emotionally charged relationship between mother and son:
"You want to get rid of me, mother, I was always a load for you and now you want to get rid of me once and for all… But I do not want to get rid of anyone. I want you to leave me alone… I want that… Besides, that's why I'm leaving! If this is what upset you! So that I am not a burden to you! ”
In this timeless work (1987), which proves to be completely familiar to the modern viewer, the author sensitively illuminates the whole range of human relations while giving a relief description of the time. The direction of Adonis Floridis moves in the same pattern. Having at his disposal an exceptional set of actors and actors, the director tries to highlight the subtle nuances of relationships and emotions. The emblematic role of the mother is played by the charismatic and much loved by the public Rania Schiza, who appears for the first time on the Cypriot scene.
A few words about the project:
ATHENS 1985, eve of parliamentary elections. Katia, a woman married in the countryside, comes to Athens to vote. She will meet after a year her son, Michalis, a first-year student at the Industrial School. Michalis is living with a young working girl, Fani. Fani's little brother, Giannis, gets involved in a strange case with an illegal weapon. Meanwhile, Katia learns from an old friend that her son has not gone to school, that she is preparing to leave for America and that Fani is pregnant. In her attempt to deal with the situation, she confronts Michalis. A lot will happen in a few hours, while outside there is a pre-election atmosphere full of tension.
