After its successful performance in the Sotira Municipal District of the Ayia Napa Municipality, Michalis Pashiardis' play "The Cat", which is being staged by the THOK's Off-Site Stage and directed by Alexia Papalazarou, will travel on Saturday, April 26, 2025, to the Achna Municipal District of the Ayia Napa Municipality.
This is a landmark work of Cypriot theatrical writing, deeply rooted in local tradition and folk wisdom, which, through the richness of the Cypriot dialect and its moving narrative, brings to life an era where debt, honor, romance, love, war, death and fate are inextricably intertwined, transforming personal stories into part of collective memory.
The direction and arrangement by Alexia Papalazarou, enriched with the quatrains of Michalis Pashiardis, unearths memories and experiences and illuminates, with the valuable assistance of the live music of Giorgos Kalogiros, the authenticity of this world that is gradually declining, but remains indelible in our souls. A performance that invites the old and new generation to travel to the warmth of the past and its language.
