The Cyprus Addiction Treatment Authority, the Confederation of Secondary Education Parents and the Cyprus Youth Organization are organizing Empowerment Groups for parents.

The purpose of the program is to provide a space where parents can discuss what concerns them, share experiences and get information and knowledge about the psychosocial development and well-being of children and family.

Through the meetings the parents will have the opportunity to practice skills necessary for the parental role but at the same time they will be able to be strengthened on a personal level through the development of communication skills, stress and anger management, etc.

The groups discuss topics such as family communication, managing difficult behaviors in children and adolescents, the role of the parent in demarcation and discipline, the challenges faced by the parent as an individual, parental stress and anger, contemporary challenges for family and children and any other issues that concern the team members.

At Famagusta province The meetings will take place in Sotira, at the Youth Information Center of the Cyprus Youth Organization, coordinated by the Psychologist, Maria Evripidou.
