This year marks the 100th anniversary of the tragic drowning in the Liopetri River, during which 25 people from Liopetri, Xylofagou and Avgorou lost their lives on the day of the celebration of the Flood.
The Cultural Committee of the Community Council of Liopetri organizes tonight, Tuesday 25 June, the event “100 Years from Drowning in the Liopetri River - 100 Years of Fertile Liopetritissa Voice
The event will take place at the Liopetri River, at 7:30 p.m.
It will be preceded by a minute of silence in memory of the former President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Dimitris Christofias.
The community informs the public that they can go to the venue by bus, which will depart at 6:30 p.m. from Liopetri Square.
