The action "Alice and Philip travel the Library" is an educational program dedicated to the innovative librarian Philip Tsimpoglou.
Program objectives:
1. Informing children about the institution of the Library: The program aims to highlight the importance of libraries, even in remote communities, as centers of education, entertainment and social cohesion.
2. Experiential workshops and seminars: Through these, the aim is to connect children and adults with books, promoting mental empowerment, critical and creative thinking, empathy and the cultivation of emotional intelligence.
3. Information on new children's literature bibliography: The program trains in the use of children's literature as a tool of inspiration both in the classroom and in the family environment, while at the same time promoting familiarity with the science of Library Science.
Organization and collaborations:
The program was designed by the educational programs company "Little Ulysses" and educator Angeliki Chalkiopoulou, in collaboration with the Cyprus Association of Librarians and Information Scientists (KEVEP), the Christina Apostolou Foundation and the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
