A new musical inspired by the life and music of reggae legend Bob Marley will debut in London next year.
The musical "Get Up, Stand Up!" will premiere at the Lyric Theater in London on February 6, 2021, the day the influential musician would celebrate his 76th birthday.
The story of Bob Marley's rise to the global music scene is conveyed on stage by the award-winning Lawrence Olivier duo, playwright Lee Hall and director Dominique Cook.
Actor and playwright Arinze Kene will star as Bob Marley.
"I feel absolutely honored to take on this role. Not only is it an honor to be able to convey Bob Marley's message even more, but to be one for a while is a dream come true. I grew up with his music and his mantra and he has been one of my role models since I was a kid. I feel like it is in my DNA. "He is the man, I love him," said Arinze Kene.
