The actress Sofia Olympiou, who was much loved through the serial "Akros Oikogeneiakon" as "Aunt Julia", passed away at the age of 82.
The actress had an important career in the theater and participated in many successful serials
The news of her death was made known through Facebook by the journalist Vassilis Bouziotis.
Her real name was Sofia-Glykeria Chalkiopoulou and she grew up in an artistic family. Her father was the actor Giannis Chalkiopoulos, her mother the actress Elli Lalaouni, her grandfather the actor Nikos Chalkiopoulos & her grandmother the actress Sofia Chalkiopoulou.
On her mother's side she had a grandmother, also an actress, Olympia Damaskou-Lalaouni. Her first husband was the charismatic & actor George Olympios, while her second husband was the actor Christoforos Kazantzidis.
Her funeral took place today in the First Cemetery of Athens.
