His eyes are full of light, determination and hope. He allowed each passing day to invite him to look ahead. He never closed his eyes to fear.
He knows, there is no going back. Whatever happened, happened and he can not change it. He accepted it and continued to move forward, to live beautifully and to dream. He knows full well that life is a race of endurance, not speed. Resistance to the difficulties of life, which want to "throw" you down, to "hit" you mercilessly. But Alexander won, he sees the starry sky and smiles!

"I was born on July 5, 1994 and I live in Nicosia. My student years were beautiful. I did swimming championships and I loved gymnastics.
I went to the army normally but a year later, in 2013, I had a car accident. I was a vacationer and in the evening I went out with my friends. I was a passenger on the motorcycle and I had a protective helmet. At some point, however, the driver of the motorcycle lost control, causing it to collide. I do not remember what exactly happened…
I was in the General Hospital of Nicosia. I was one month in the intensive care unit and four months in the Paraplegic. For two weeks, I had no contact with the environment. I do not even know if I was at a party or not, I do not remember. My father was the one who spoke to me, he told me exactly what happened to me. My spine broke, leaving me confined to a wheelchair for the rest of my life. I do not remember how I reacted…
It was definitely very difficult to accept it, to believe it. But I managed to find the mental strength very quickly to continue. It was only 6 months after the hospital and I started going out normally with my friends and trying to make my life beautiful.
I continue full of strength, will and I do not stop dreaming !!!
I have my own cafeteria, I work out and I'm in the "Nicosia Team Rollers", a wheelchair basketball team. The ultimate goal of our team is to attract, reintegrate and integrate people with disabilities into society through the sport of basketball (social sports).
We never stop looking ahead and dreaming. We must let ourselves "roll" like life ".
