One for each birthday party, until adulthood…

A 40-year-old Italian woman died of cancer and left 17 gifts to her daughter.

The story of Eliza Girotto moves the whole of Italy. This is a 40-year-old woman who lost the battle against a particularly aggressive form of cancer in the Italian north. But when the doctors informed her that she could only live for another two months, Eliza told her partner:

"I thought I would have a little more time, but it does not matter, we will do it anyway."

They got married immediately and from that moment on, Eliza Giroto decided to dedicate herself only to her little daughter, Alice, who was born a year ago. He bought her seventeen gifts, one for each of her birthdays. Dolls, puppets, books, but also a large globe, with flags on all the cities that Eliza would like to be able to visit with her daughter.

Τi amerò per semper (I will love you forever) come farò senza di te (what will I do without you), il mio capolavoro (my masterpiece) wrote Eliza, shortly before she died, next to the photo she uploaded with her daughter, on Instagram.

At the same time she left the little girl two notebooks with tender thoughts and recorded CDs so that she would not forget her voice. A way for the mother-daughter relationship to never end and for death not to be able to impose its own, heartless oblivion.
