Just 1,5 hours from Athens is one of the most picturesque cities in Greece that has nothing to envy from the islands… Nafplio. If you have not been, a single walk through its alleys will convince you that you should have visited earlier.
It is worth seeing Palamidi, the fortress built in 1687 by the Venetians, after the occupation of the hill on which it is located, after a fierce battle with the Ottomans during the Venetian-Turkish War. It was the first capital of modern Greece. Besides, the neoclassical architecture and the strong popular element, remind that on the Saronic island the first Greek government was sworn in after the Revolution.
Take a bath and enjoy the sunset on beaches Sarpa or Klidi in Perdika and visit the Temple of Aphaia. The neoclassical style of the houses will catch your eye and the narrow streets will excite you.

Undoubtedly Spetses is the island synonymous with finesse and nobility. The atmosphere that prevails in this destination which is about 2 hours to 3 hours from Athens is magical. The travel time depends on whether you choose the ship or the dolphin.
Spetses is located near the Argolic peninsula, next to Ermionida. Their name is believed to be due to the Venetians, who called them "the island of perfumes", ie "Isola di Spezzie", because of the fragrance of their flowers. In ancient times it was called Pityousa, because of their many pines.
