The brightest house… is dedicated to our people who left early

"Tonight's Christmas lighting is dedicated to our people who left early for the Angels neighborhood."

A different lighting…

It happened on Saturday at 18:30 in the afternoon in the village of Xylofagou in the province of Famagusta. This is the Christmas lighting of a house and was dedicated to those who left us early. Feelings of emotion and nostalgia were very strong for everyone who attended.

The owner had taken care to illuminate every side and every corner, with colorful lights in imaginative combinations, even the roof. At the moment of illumination, everyone was holding in their hands a star that wrote the name of their beloved who left early, as well as a candle.

Leaving, they left them on the small wooden tree they made the night before. There was also Santa Claus who gave gifts and beautiful smiles to young and old.

The house belongs to Antonis and Giota Theofanous. The couple lost their baby boy at the age of 13. Little Angel suffered from a very rare degenerative disease, Ataxia-Telangiectasia syndrome (which affects the nervous system by creating instability in walking both in the early stages and later.

Patients have a weakened immune system, as a result of which they suffer from frequent chronic infections - mainly of the lungs - and a high probability of all serious diseases such as cancer.

The unfortunate boy was in a hospital most days of his life and until one treatment was completed, the other began.

June 23, 2004…

His father said to him, "My son, do you want us to go to our house?" Angelos said to him for the first time: "no". He just wanted them to hold his hand and read him fairy tales. In the evening of the same day and specifically at 19:35, the little Angel closed his eyes forever…

Angelos's family never stopped celebrating his birthday, of course, in a completely different way now…

Every 1st of July that Angelos celebrates his birthday in heaven, his parents organize a celebration of love. Proceeds from the celebration are given to the "Sunbeam of Life" association in Larnaca. With them are always several volunteers who last night gave their dynamic presence.

Mr. Antonis Theofanous reports to ant1iwo:

"This evening is dedicated to love and to all those who left us early. It is also dedicated to our little Angel who adored Christmas.

These days of Christmas, have the capacity to make us get out of the routine and problems. But we do not forget, not even for a moment, our loved ones who left. It hurts us even more that he is not near us, to spend the holidays with us. "As Christmas approaches, the gap inside us grows."

"Tonight's Christmas lighting is dedicated to our people who left early for the Angels neighborhood. We thank all the volunteers who are with us tonight and help us every year on the feast of the Angel ", added Mrs. Giota.
