They tortured their 8-year-old son to death, thinking he was gay

Netflix, as you already know, very often brings series with true stories that shocked the public.

One of them concerns the case of 8-year-old Gabriel Fernandez and in fact the first information states that it is a series for viewers with a strong stomach. The documentary series is entitled The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez and will consist of six episodes.

The story

On May 22, 2013, Pearl Fernandez called the police stating that her son Gabriel hit her in the head and was not breathing. When they arrived at the house, however, doctors and police found that the story told by the 8-year-old's mother was not true. The young boy was shot and found naked with a broken rib and a skull fracture. Gabriel died two days later in hospital.

It all started in 2012 when Gabriel left the relatives he was staying with because his mother decided to take him back to stay with her and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre. But Aguirre believed the boy was gay, and so the horrific torture began. In the following months, his mother and her partner broke the little boy in the wood every day and left him fasting. When he died, medical examiners who took over the child's body said it took them two days to complete the autopsy as his body was deformed from the abuse. A prosecutor also said during the trial that Gabriel was abused, beaten and tortured worse by prisoners of war.

The Netflix documentary will not stop there, however, as the story also involves four social workers who have been accused of child abuse and falsifying public records.
