Billionaire Elon Musk has revealed his plans for the settlement of Mars.
He says he hopes to be able to send at least two spacecraft to the red planet by 2022, using a rocket he plans to use to travel to Earth.
According to him, this rocket will be able to transport people anywhere on our planet in an hour.
The businessman announced his plans at an International Astronautics Conference in Australia.
"I feel quite confident that we will be able to build the spacecraft and have it ready to launch in the next five years," said the SpaceX chief, referring to a base on the Moon.
The spacecraft will have all the necessary elements for human survival while they will reach Mars in 2024, starting the colonization, aiming to relocate 1.000.000 people to the planet.
Musk, meanwhile, has announced that he plans to travel around the globe for no more than an hour.
The BFR, as the system is called, will be able to reach a top speed of 27.000 km / h and connect New York with Shanghai in 39 minutes, Bangkok with Dubai in 27 minutes or Los Angeles with Toronto in in 24 minutes.
