Antigoni Buxton described the anguish she experienced until Cyprus' qualification for the Eurovision 2026 final was announced, with the player characteristically stating "I went to die until I heard my country."
On the evening of Thursday, May 14, the second semi-final of the music competition took place, with the singer performing "Jalla" on the Vienna stage. In statements made after the announcement of the results, which were broadcast on Friday on the show "Super Katerina", Buxton said that she feels particularly happy to be in the grand final on Saturday, commenting that she is "living her dream."
At the same time, she admitted that she was stressed when the first countries to qualify were announced, with Cyprus not being among them. As she stated: "I am very happy. Until they said about Cyprus, I was dying, but on the other hand I also felt confident and believed that we would pass. We had a great time. For us it is a party on the table, something very happy. I am living my dream. Without my mom I would not be here. The first message I received was from my boyfriend. He was watching me from New York."
