The singer made her first statements after the official release of the song with which Antigoni Buxton will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2026, responding to those who claim that it is too Cypriot, emphasizing that she does not care.
Antigoni Buxton, who will perform in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2026 with the song "Jalla", in her interview with Alpha News on Monday, February 9, said that she tries not to read negative comments in general, but when she does, they do not affect her and she does not get angry.
The singer spoke about some of the negative comments that may have been made about her song: "I try not to read the negative comments. They don't bother me. I know that if you do something well and it goes well, you will also have those who say something bad. Those who sit on the phone and say bad things are not happy, that's how I see it. If some people have a problem that our song is too Cypriot, let them talk. I don't care," and then confirmed that the choreographer of her appearance will be Sacha Jean-Baptiste, who had also choreographed Eleni Foureira when she participated in the competition.

Regarding the video clip of "Jalla" and Sofia Hatzipandeli's participation in it, he stated: "We have been friends with Sofia Hatzipandeli for many years, I know her and we met in London years ago. And when we wrote this part in the song that says "my daughter, my daughter", I had in my mind that "I want Sofia to do this, because it suits her very much". She is unique and she is fully Cypriot. And so I wanted her in the video clip and Stavros Flatley and Cypriot Smurf. Names that I see that speak of Cyprus, that represent Cyprus in general. And my aunt and grandfather who are in my heart. And they are very proud that I will go to Eurovision and they are very proud in general of our Cyprus. So having them in the video clip is very beautiful".
Finally, Antigoni Buxton pointed out that Eleni Foureira contacted her when it was announced that she would be the representative of Cyprus this year: "Foureira had sent me a message when the news came out that I would be going to Eurovision, because I opened her concert in London a little while ago. She said 'I'm very happy for you and if you want any tips I'm here'. I will definitely get the tips from Foureira. And yes, I also spoke to Claudia and I would like to speak to other artists who have gone. It's a very unique thing and, yes, I want to know everything", she concluded.
