Amber Heard: Never Gave $ 7 Million Divorce to Charity

The long-running trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continues and on Monday afternoon we had a new revelation, which further complicates the credibility of the ex-wife of the Hollywood star.

Johnny Depp's lawyer, Camille Vazquez, who has come very close to the actor and there are many who talk about a new love, pressured Herd with her questions about the divorce money she promised to give to charity.

Shortly after the couple divorced in 2016, Herd had made it clear that he "never wanted Johnny's money" and had promised to give the $ 7 million he would receive to charity.

Herd had donated half the money to the American Civil Liberties Union and the rest to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital, two major nonprofits that could benefit from a large donation like this. The thing is, he never gave them all the money.

Terence Doherty of the American Civil Liberties Union was summoned by Depp's legal team late last month and confirmed that Herd had never given them $ 3,5 million. She testified that she eventually received $ 1,3 million, just over a third and $ 500 from her then-friend and billionaire Elon Musk. Doherty also testified in court that Herd cut off all communication with the organization in 2019.

It is not clear how much he has donated to the Children's Hospital, but last year a letter was revealed that was sent to the actress in 2019 by the hospital administration, writing that they had received only 100 thousand dollars, out of the 3,4 million he had promised.

So Basquez decided to press Amber Heard in her deposition yesterday, saying that Depp's ex-wife did not donate the $ 7 million.

"This is wrong," Herd replied, causing the lawyer to laugh.

Vazquez rephrased her question: "Mrs. Herd, you have not yet donated the amount you received from the $ XNUMX million divorce settlement to charity, have you?"

"Wrong, I promised a total of seven million for charity and I intend to fulfill these obligations," the actress replied.

Vasketh tried several times to interrupt her, noting that she did not answer the question and explaining that it is one thing to donate and another to promise.

"I use promise and donation as synonyms… This is how donations are paid," with Basquez explaining that one is promise and the other is fulfillment, adding:

"Respectfully, Ms. Herd, this is not my question. "To date, you have not paid $ 3,5 million of your own money to the ACLU, yes or no?"

Amber finally backed down, saying, "I have not paid yet."

Vazquez asked again: "And to this day, you have not paid $ 3,5 million of your own money to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital?"

Amber replied: "I have not paid yet because Johnny sued me."

Depp's lawyer, this time, insisted again, in a more aggressive tone: "So far, you have not donated seven million dollars from your divorce settlement to charity, right?".

Amber replied: "I have not been able to fulfill these obligations yet."

And somewhere here is another small victory of Depp who sues his ex-wife for defamation, after Amber Heard had stated many times and even publicly, that she has given 7 million dollars to charity, after the money of her former lover , they never cared about her.

For example, in an interview in 2018 on a Dutch talk show, she had characteristically stated: "A total of seven million dollars were donated. I shared them between the ACLU and the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. I did not want anything. "

Most importantly, in the couple's first lawsuit in 2020, Herd testified before the UK Supreme Court that he had donated the entire amount.
