Christos Mastoras: There is a misunderstanding, my origin is Greek, clarify
Christos Mastoras spoke about the role of Stelios Kazantzidis in the movie "Yparcho" and about a misunderstanding regarding his origin.
In an excerpt shown on Breakfast@star from his interview on the Lifo podcast, the singer talks about the comments he has received about the role, while clarifying that he is not of Albanian, but Greek origin.
He then noted that he wasn't given the role, but auditioned and didn't expect to win it. He emphasized that his voice in the film is not the result of artificial intelligence, while dismissing the malicious comments, saying that he considers them normal for successful people.
Regarding the comments he has received all this time, he answered humorously: "I got oiled... to take the role of Kazantzidis!".
He then spoke about the process he went through to get the role: “We had an appointment and I went through casting, it wasn't an assignment. I didn't think I would get the part. Hate comments don't affect me. It is to be expected that when one succeeds, something will be found for him. I've always had it with impersonations, it's not AI my voice in the movie. And you understand, the voice is not carbon."
Finally, Christos Mastoras wanted to clear up a misunderstanding that has been made regarding his origin.
"There is a misunderstanding here, my origin is Greek. I have not come to the difficult position, that other people come, that accept racism. An Albanian hides his origin, because he has accepted racism. Everyone is proud of their origin, until someone comes along and turns it into a weakness," he said in closing.
