Dimitra Alexandraki revealed that she had an abortion at the age of 24 and feels justified, as she was not ready to become a mother. Although she considers the act a sin, she believed that giving birth to a child in difficult circumstances would be a bigger mistake. The model, in an interview she gave on Phidias' online show, confessed that she was shocked when she learned that she was pregnant, as she thought she could not have children. Ultimately, this experience led her to quit smoking and change some habits in her life.

“I feel like I saved a soul” – Dimitra Alexandraki

Dimitra Alexandraki revealed that she had an abortion, emphasizing that she has no regrets about her decision. In more detail, she described: "I had an abortion and I am very happy that I did this thing and I am not torturing a child in this day and age, I did not drag a child with me. It was done at the age of 24. I would have dragged it with me, it would have been tortured as well as me. I really feel that I saved a soul, I did not torture it."

She explained that she considers abortion a sin, but she considers it a greater sin to bring a child to life and not provide it with what it needs. In particular, she said: "Many will run to say that I am from the church. Yes, I consider it a sin and I have confessed it. I considered it a greater sin to bring it to life and torture it. I was not ready, just like now if you ask me, I am not ready."

She added, clarifying that she was the one who decided to have the abortion. "It was my choice. Imagine if someone forced me to do something I didn't want to do. Because I know very well what this part is like, I've lived it, it's not pleasant in any way, but I'm sure I did the right thing because it was my choice," she emphasized.

Dimitra Alexandraki confessed that she was shocked when she found out she was pregnant because she thought she couldn't have children. Specifically, she noted: "I freaked out, because I had an issue. I thought I couldn't have children. I was with a man for a few years, but eventually I could and I didn't understand. Suddenly, I started to feel unwell. I started to have nausea, vomiting, and I was like, what's going on? I suddenly found out I'm pregnant. I had a stroke, I was shocked, I freaked out."

She even quit smoking for good after that period. "I was drinking a lot then and I think I may have caused some damage to him. That's when I stopped smoking, I couldn't smell alcohol or cigarettes. As soon as that happened, my whole body suddenly changed. I did a test and as soon as I saw it I said: Oh my God, this can't have happened. I cried black tears, I couldn't believe it," she concluded.
