Dimitris Starovas spoke about the stroke he suffered in May and the effects it had on his body.
The well-known artist uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel where he revealed that during his health adventure he lost almost 40 kg. He also stated that he is trying to return to his daily life.
"I'm close to 40 kilos. I've lost 38 so far, hope it shows. And don't say you can't see the guitar better,” he said at first.
He then revealed that while he had no mobility issues, he was unable to articulate: “Definitely one of the most important and terrifying experiences of my life. I didn't have any movement problems from the first day, thank God, I could move my arms and legs. I couldn't speak, not a word, at least we were spared the traffic. I rehearsed the guitar, I was sure I wouldn't have been affected."
He also described the progress he made in the period following the episode and stated that he is now fully recovered: "When I got out of the hospital I went to the rehabilitation center for 1,5 months, there I asked my friend Dimitris to bring me one of the my guitars. I'm picking up the guitar guys and I realized that I lost the rhythm. I couldn't synchronize my two hands. I had no choice but to despair. Fortunately in 10 days the progress was many times the reason. Now I'm almost 90% back. Let's be optimistic and everything will be fine."
What he had said about the problems he was having with his speech
Dimitris Starovas has returned to the stage participating in concerts, a few months after the stroke he suffered.
In an interview he gave on the "Breakfast" show on September 25, the well-known artist emphasized that he is trying to return to normal rhythms, but then he revealed that he still faces difficulty with his speech.
More specifically, he had stated: "Today was my most difficult moment on stage. I've felt this way since I was a kid who had the anxiety of inexperience. If you want to be good at this job, you have to believe that you are good. I'm trying to come back. I'm fine with the guitar, but the speech makes it difficult for me. I had and still have a problem synchronizing the guitar with the speech. I'm 90% back. The progress on the guitar is many times the word. I was a little nervous today, but it's in my character, in the worst situation to always see something positive, that's what I'm looking for." In closing, Dimitris Starovas pointed out: "Man has powers he can't even imagine. That's what I'm finding now. I knew that people love me and I get it every day on the street, in the shops. I go to get a coffee or to the supermarket and regardless of my age they tell me "Iron man, we love you".
Dimitris Starova's shocking video one month after the stroke

In the clip he uploaded on social media on June 16, Dimitris Starovas said: "Hello. A month has passed since my adventure. I didn't want to make this video so you wouldn't see me like you're used to but I thought we shouldn't hide. Inside life is everything. I want you to get firsthand information that I'm fine, every day I'm getting better and better. I want to tell you so much and thank so many people but it's not possible, the video will take us two days. So I'm saving it for later. For the moment I want to thank my Annula and all of you for the love you have shown me throughout this period and still continue. See you soon, kisses. Thanks".
