Manoussos Manousakis, the director of the great television hits, died at the age of 74. Recently he was hospitalized, while the news of his death has caused sadness in the artistic world and the public. The series he directed, such as "Heart whispers", "Touch of soul", "Don't say goodbye to me" and "Love came from far away", are considered among the best in the history of Greek television.
Manousakis was born in 1950 in Athens. He studied directing at the London Film School in England. When he returned to Greece in the early 1970s he started working initially in the cinema.
One of his first works was the film Bartholomew in 1973. In this film he had a triple role as he wrote the script and directed and produced it.
The film received a special mention at the 1973 San Remo Film Festival, but in Greece it was banned by the junta, this film was also screened in a cinema in Thessaloniki in 1973 (Vas. Olgas Street and Martiou Street), the actors were almost all residents of Kiliomodiou Corinthia, also at the entrance of the cinema there was a junta policeman.
Other film productions followed, such as Archontes in 1978, The Scarecrow in 1985, while he participated in the films Souvliste! So we will get the curadokastro and The song of the return, where he was present as an actor.
In the mid-1980s he took his first steps as a director of television series.
More specifically, he directed the series: Goblin Jobs (1985-1986), Micrographies (1986-1987) and The Best Years (1989).
His name has been associated with the direction and production of Greek television series on private television from the early 1990s until today.

The drama series he directed are based on forbidden love stories, while some of them (Heart whispers, Soul touch, Don't tell me goodbye, Love came from far away) are considered to be among the most successful in the history of Greek television.
In the cinema, he has directed the films Received an Appointment in 1996, Red Dragon in 1998 and Ouzeri Tsitsanis in 2015.
