The national final of Eurovision is a fact and Klavdia got the coveted ticket to Basel, Switzerland. The young performer won the impressions with her dreamy voice and with the song "Asteromata", which sends out resounding messages.
Composed by the creative team of Arcade, the song talks about the uprooting of the Pontians, as the singer herself is of Pontic origin.
"In general, we always had in mind to make a piece that I could identify with, that would connect me in some way, and that's how the inspiration came. The song talks about uprooting and being a refugee. Our country is a country that has experienced these feelings. From the history of our grandparents and we see it today in those who come to our country for a better life. My family is of Pontic origin, they are refugees, and that's how I connect with the piece. My grandmother, Grandma Klavdia, has told me stories, she has told me about her family, how they left then with the uprooting and went to the Soviet Union, my parents were born there, grew up there until they were old enough and returned to Greece in '91 and started a new life here," Klavdia has stated.
The 22-year-old has a bright future, while many consider her a "miracle" as her talent is innate. She has admitted that she started vocal lessons a while ago, while when she was introduced to "Voice" in 2018... she had not tried her hand at it. Her first steps in discography followed and she has collaborated with successful DJs and music producers, covering international dance hits of the '00s, such as "Touch me" and "Movin' Too Fast".
He has performed alongside renowned artists, such as Dionysis Savvopoulos, and participated in festivals. "After The Voice, Dionysis Savvopoulos' manager called me to collaborate on a concert. This was my first professional job. I was in denial, I didn't believe it! Finally, we met, we talked about it. I felt awe, shock! The man told me that he wanted fresh voices and that he had discovered me from The Voice," he has said.
Christina Aguilera is a "fan"
"I uploaded a video on TikTok and Christina Aguilera liked it. I uploaded a cover of one of her songs, I see her name in my notifications, I made sure it was hers, I screenshotted it and sent it to everyone. I thought that for her to like it, she must have liked it," Klavdia has said.
The comparison with Nana Mouskouri
In a recent interview with Grigoris Arnaoutoglou, she spoke about her characteristic glasses. "I have a hard time imagining myself without glasses. I have been compared many times to Nana Mouskouri because of my glasses. I don't wear glasses just for style, I can't even see!" she said jokingly.
