The star shared his emotional "goodbye" to his Sandy in a tearful Instagram post. After all, together they had taken off into the realm of success when they co-starred in the 1978 film “Grease” where Olivia Newton-John played the innocent Sandy and John Travolta played the tame bad boy, Danny Zuko.

"My dearest Olivia, you have made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We'll see you at the end of the road and we'll all be together again. Yours from the first phonor to see you and forever. Your Danny, your John!” wrote John Travolta.

After 1978 and the decades that followed they had supported each other through tragedies and major life milestones. They reunited and dressed up as the iconic Grease characters during the Meet n' Grease sing-along event at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida in December 2019.
