According to Deadline, Killian Murphy will play Oppenheimer, the famous theoretical physicist who played a central role in the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II. The film will be based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer" written by Kay Byrd and the late Martin J. Serwood.
The film will be produced by Emma Thomas and Charles Rowan, cinematographer Hoyte von Hoytema, edited by Jennifer Laym and composed by Ludwig Goranson.
The film will be Christopher Nolan's first project in 200 years outside of Warner Bros. as it moved to Universal Pictures.
The British director has collaborated with Killian Murphy, Tommy Selby of "Peaky Blinders", in four films in the two Batman films "The Dark Knight", "Inception" and "Dunkirk", a story that also takes place in the period of B ' World War II, which nominated Nolan for the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director.
