Akylas is the big winner of the Greek final for Eurovision 2026, as “Ferto” got the ticket to Vienna, where the 70th music contest will be held. The song, which appeared as the big favorite from the beginning of the process, prevailed with 48 points after combining the public vote and the scores of the two judging panels – the Greek and the international – among 14 nominations that claimed victory on the night of the Grand Final.
In second place was Good Job Nicky with "Dark Side of the Moon", who received 33 points, while Marseaux came in third with "I'm Lost" and 32 points. Evangelia followed with "Parea", collecting 24 points, while ZAF closed the top five with "Asteio", who received 23 points.
After his big win, Akyllas stated: "I want to say, whoever you are, wherever you are from, it's important to be real, positive, to love you, to follow your dreams and never stop, to be authentic," emphasizing that he cannot speak because he is in shock.

Akylas, born Akylas Mytilineos, was born in Serres in 1999 and belongs to the new generation of artists who combine personal experience and contemporary sound. His first substantial contact with music was through the Music School, where he studied, cultivating his relationship with composition and performance from an early age. Raised in a home with great financial difficulties, Akylas transformed his experiences into artistic material, gradually building his presence on stage with consistency and personal stigma.
“Ferto”, with its intense rhythm and extroverted energy, functions as a double commentary: on the one hand it criticizes the greed and overconsumption that characterize modern society, on the other hand it captures his own journey from deprivation to success. Through lyrics that describe the eternal desire for “more and more”, the artist highlights the lack of satisfaction that leads to an endless hunt for material goods, while at the same time illuminating the repressed feelings of a child who grew up with limitations. He himself has pointed out that the song, although it talks about a “hero”, is deeply experiential, a piece dedicated to his parents and to all those who fought to offer their children opportunities in difficult circumstances. Thus, “Ferto” is not only an uplifting pop track, but also a narrative of gratitude, ambition and personal transcendence.
Akylas, visibly emotional after the announcement of the result, ran to hug his mother, with tears in his eyes.
