'I f***d cancer!” Evelina Skitsko wrote on a piece of cardboard and celebrated it with a party. The model from Cyprus who was particularly loved during the first season of GNTM celebrated on Sunday night, 11/16, one of the most important and moving moments of her life: her victory over cancer. The former contestant on the fashion show chose to celebrate this milestone with a big party, surrounded by friends and family, wanting to honor not only her own strength, but also all those who stood by her in this battle.

Evelina recently revealed, through a long and very personal post on social media, that she was diagnosed with cancer. Until then, she had chosen to keep her adventure away from the spotlight, but she finally decided to speak openly, not to shock or cause sadness, but to offer strength, truth and hope to those who are going through the same difficult path. Her decision to share her story was accompanied by words full of emotion, while the response from the public was enormous.

At the party she organized for her “second birth,” as she called it, she posed smiling while holding a cardboard that read: “Kill cancer!” The atmosphere was festive and full of love. Her people, those who experienced the difficult days up close, now support her with even more joy, seeing her standing strong and optimistic again. The atmosphere was more reminiscent of a celebration of life than a simple gathering – a message that even in moments of great trial, there is always room for hope.

She wrote in her post:

"I didn't think the day would come when I would speak publicly about something so personal. I thought it was weakness and shame. I also thought that talking about something so personal was very sensitive for everyone. Until I saw how many people, young and old, are experiencing the same situation. That's when I realized how many of us there are. I realized that it's not a weakness but an opposing force. My most powerful weapon that I will always have with me. That's when I realized how much strength someone can have who fights every day with all their strength to stay standing. Some heroes manage to emerge victorious and some others unfortunately don't.

This is the reality. They are heroes though. My heroes for sure. And the heroes we should appreciate and admire. The doctors, the nurses, the assistants…heroes! Next to you in every fall but also in every step you climb. In front of you is a mountain. But… every day step by step until you climb. There are many of us. Unfortunately, this is the reality. But know that you are not alone. We all fight together every day. Until we emerge victorious.

And even then we will fight again. For ourselves, for our family, for our friends, for our loved ones. It is enough not to give up. Never stop fighting. Our mind and ourselves are the worst enemy. Not the disease. You can fall…but you can get up again! Cancer is among us. It is tough, but you are even tougher! Because when you manage to defeat your thoughts, know that you have emerged victorious. It is enough to believe in it and not give up!

Evelina Skitsko, who stood out on GNTM for her beauty, kindness and morals, shows today that true strength lies in the soul. Her fight is a living reminder that a person can overcome the most difficult obstacles when they believe in themselves and have people who love them by their side.
