Christos Mastoras was arrested at dawn in the center of Athens after being subjected to a breathalyzer test.
According to information, everything happened at around 2.00:XNUMX in the morning at a traffic police checkpoint at the intersection of Stadiou and Aiolou streets when the singer did not stop at the police signal and attempted to leave. However, he did not manage to get far as he stopped a little further on at a second checkpoint in Omonia.
In his attempt to leave, he almost dragged a traffic policeman away.
His blood alcohol level was above the legal limit and he was arrested.
According to information, the alcohol level was above 0.8, while the limit is 0,25 milligrams per liter of exhaled air.
This is exactly what happened with the famous singer, who this morning is being brought before the courts of the former Evelpidon school in a summary proceeding.
What applies to the KOK with the breathalyzer test?
According to article 42 of the Highway Code, the permissible alcohol limit is set at 0,5 grams per liter of blood, in the case of measurement by blood sampling, or 0,25 milligram per liter of exhaled air, in the case of measurement by breathalyzer. From there on, the legislation on alcohol and driving stipulates:
Administrative fine of 200 euros, immobilisation of the vehicle and 5 penalty points, if the concentration of alcohol in the driver's blood ranges from 0,50 to 0,80 grams per liter of blood in the case of measurement using the blood sampling method or from 0,25 to 0,40 milligrams per liter of inhaled air for measurement with an alcoholmeter.
Administrative fine of 700 euros, immobilisation of the vehicle, withdrawal of the driving license for 90 days (3 months) and 9 penalty points, if the concentration of alcohol in the driver's blood is above 0,80 and up to 1,10 grams per liter of blood measured by the blood sampling method or above 0,40 to 0,60 milligram per liter of exhaled air measured by an alcohol meter.
Administrative fine of 1.200 euros, immobilisation of the vehicle, imprisonment for 2 months and withdrawal of the driver's license for 180 days (6 months), if the concentration of alcohol in the driver's blood is above 1,10 grams per liter of blood measured by the blood sampling method or above 0,60 milligram per liter of exhaled air when measured with an alcohol meter.
Finally, if the driver is caught driving under the influence of alcohol within 2 years of the previous violation of the legislation prohibiting drunk driving and the concentration of alcohol in his blood, during the new violation, is above 1,10 grams per liter of blood measured by the blood sampling method or above 0,60 milligram per liter of exhaled air measured with an alcohol meter, an administrative fine of 2.000 euros, immobilisation of the vehicle, imprisonment for 6 months, removal of the driving license for 5 years and of the license plates for 6 months is imposed.
These were the provisions and penalties for alcohol consumption, as defined by the Code of Criminal Procedure.
