The void left behind by the great Lady of the Greek pentagram, Marinella, is enormous. Her loved ones are expected to bid her farewell on Tuesday (31.03.2026) at the Metropolis of Athens, with her body also being placed in a public pilgrimage.
Although Marinella's burial will be private, her fans will be able to bid her farewell from 08:00 in the morning, at the Church of Panagia Gorgoepikou and Agios Eleftherios. The public pilgrimage will conclude at 13:00, when the body of the great diva will be transferred to the Metropolis of Athens for the funeral service.
Marinella passed away on Saturday (28.03.2026) at her home, from an infection while still trying to overcome the serious stroke she suffered in September 2024 while singing at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
In an announcement issued by her family, her funeral will take place at 14:00 PM, while the burial will be private.
In lieu of wreaths, donations are requested to "Floga", the Association of Parents of Children with Neoplastic Diseases."
"We bid farewell to our beloved Marinella on Tuesday, March 31st at 14:00 PM, from the Metropolitan Church of Athens. Her body will lie in state in the chapel of the Church of Agios Eleftherios from 08:00 AM to 13:00 PM.
The burial will take place in a close family circle. In lieu of wreaths, donations are requested to “Floga”, Association of Parents of Children with Neoplastic Diseases,” the announcement states.
