On the show "Let's Go Party", the granddaughter of the late Kyriakou Pelagia, Irene Pelagia, spoke on the occasion of the performance "My Grandmother Kyriakou".
Irini Pelagia confessed that "I never considered it a burden to carry my grandmother's name." She said that "the real friction with this name came at university when I started doing work on tradition and I was like, you have this person next to you because you don't learn about him, so that's where my journey began, to really get to know Kyriakou and what she did because when you're little you don't realize it, but I don't think she'll bother me because they are two different paths, I deal with traditional but I also have other repertoires next to me and I always try with respect so that there is no comparison."
She was moved to reveal that "grandma had seen me sing at a school party and the last time I sang to her was in bed. The song came after I started playing the violin."
