Eleni Foureira spoke about her desire to become a mother before her son was even born, emphasizing that she had seriously considered the possibility of having a child through a surrogate mother.
The singer gave an interview to Vidcast "Anestea" on YouTube and in an excerpt from the episode that aired on Monday, December 8, she talks about motherhood, difficult personal and professional moments that she has experienced to date.
Regarding her past thoughts about having a child through a surrogate mother, Eleni Foureira stated: "I would have had a child anyway, even with a surrogate. I had come very close to having a child through a surrogate. It was very difficult for me. I remember crying, I said, 'God is testing me now'."

The singer then commented on her background: "Because I was a kid from Albania, I had to make a little more effort. I've worked with people who turned my back on me. I haven't had the most perfect collaborations. Your success brings out your true self."
At another point, she admitted that she had been depressed: "I hate when something happens and you lie to me to make me feel good. I went through a mini depression. I left there upset and went to the hotel and just wanted to sleep so I could go home."
