Dimitris Papamichail passed away today and his son, Yiannis, made a touching post on his instagram.

It was August 8, 2004 when Dimitris Papamichail passed away spreading sadness throughout Greece.

Today marks 20 years since his death and his son never forgets him.

He posted a joint photo and wrote:

His first role was in Chekhov's The Seagull, followed by the role of Polydoros in Euripides' Hekavi in ​​1955. Then, he collaborated with the "Karols Kuhn" Art Theater and from 1962 he formed his own troupe in the independent theater. He played alongside: Kyveli, Katina Paxinou, Anna Synodinou, Antigoni Valakou and Alexis Minoti. He was honored with the Kotopoulis Award in 1957. He also participated in major Greek cinema productions, such as Never Never (1960) and The Red Lights (1963), while the landmark film in his career was the film Papaflessas (1971), which is one of the biggest blockbusters of Greek cinema, which cost 12.009.000 drachmas.

From 1964 and for ten whole years he starred in the theater as a co-star with Aliki Vougiouklakis, but also in dozens of films as a couple, in cinema and in life.

He was a leading actor in the State Theater of Northern Greece (KTHBE) and president of the Northern Greece Actors' Association.
