Despite the pressure she received at the beginning of her career to change her appearance, Giota Nega explained that she was not affected by the comments, as she was focused on her music and work.
Referring to the person who had advised her to change her look, the singer commented that she now understands the reasons why she had received relevant comments, noting that at the time everyone saw her work from their own perspective.
As she said on the show "Rainbow Mermaids", at that time she was purely an entertainer, she only sang folk songs and people were beginning to form a certain image of her.
"Now that we're talking about it, I understand the reasons. Everyone sees the process of this work from their own perspective. I was purely an entertainer, I only spoke in popular language, I was a plump, dark-haired, boisterous girl. People had started to get to know me and the person who told me had this image. I laughed of course. I didn't take it any deeper, I didn't pay attention. I was interested in the song and what I was playing with the musicians. Everything else didn't concern me, especially at that time," said Giota Nega.

As the singer admitted, in the following years she made some changes to her appearance: "This particular person was still a fortune teller, because many years later I also became blonde, straightened my hair, and lost a few pounds."
