If you are married and your sexual activity does not go through its most prosperous days, you may be wondering what happens to other married couples. Here, as we say most married people who do not have sex very often have the same question.
Also, most people are wondering what is the normal number of sexual intercourses for a married couple.
According to sexologist Shamyra Howard: "normal sexual frequency is determined by what couples agree on as equally satisfactory and that sexual frequency is not an indicator of sexual satisfaction."
According to a survey of 660 married people from the 2018 General Social Survey, who shared details about the frequency of their sexual intercourse in the previous year:
• 25% had sex once a week
16% had sex two to three times a week
5% had sex four or more times a week
• 17% had sex once a month
• 19% had sex two to three times a month
• 10% had not had sex in the previous year
• 7% had had sex once or twice in the previous year
• 10% had not had sex in the last 12 months.
Another British study published in 2019 and conducted on a sample of 35.000 Britons found that about half of people in a serious relationship have sex less than once a week.
