The end of Onirama was confirmed by Thodoris Marantinis, stating that the band no longer exists and that he is opening a new personal chapter.
Thodoris Marantinis referred to a defining turning point in his artistic journey, revealing that the band Onirama no longer exists and that he is from now on moving forward alone in new creative steps.
As the singer stated, this period marks the closing of a very long cycle in his life, but also the beginning of a new phase:
"For me, it's a new period anyway. I'm closing a very big circle and preparing some things on my own," he said, adding that it's a huge change, accompanied by a review and a willingness to look ahead "for the best."
This development comes to put an end to a long musical journey, which began almost 25 years ago and left a strong mark on the Greek pop scene.
The path of Onirama
Onirama was formed in October 2000, when Thodoris Marantinis and Dionysis Frantzis met during their military service. The founding members also included Giorgos Kokonidis and Dimitris Kokonidis, while Kostas Karakatsanis was added shortly afterwards.
Initially, the group operated as a hobby and was called Mixing Up The Medicine, reflecting the different musical influences of the members. In 2003, Christos Tresintsis joined the group, while the same year the name was changed to Onirama, derived from the phrase "Our Dreams".
The band's recording debut came in late 2005, with the first album and songs such as "The Dance (Close Your Eyes)" and "One Day You'll Come", which received widespread acclaim. In March 2006, the band was nominated for Best Pop Group at the Arion Awards.
The following years were followed by significant collaborations and successes: a tour with Antonis Remos in 2007, the album "Klepsydra" in 2008, which reached No. 1 on the IFPI and went gold, as well as appearances in the 2009–2010 season with Michalis Hatzigiannis at Rex.
In 2010, the album "In the Land of the Mad" was released, recorded at Black Studios, which also included the official song of the Special Olympics Athens 2011.
