The deputy director of the Attica Traffic Police referred to the criminal consequences that actor Vasilis Bisbikis will face for the traffic accident he caused in the early hours of Saturday (27/9) in Filothei after his decision to abandon the scene and disappear.
According to the new KOK, Vasilis Bisbikis will be fined 1.200 euros and his license will be revoked for at least a month, he told MEGA. This is because according to the new KOK, leaving a traffic accident is now treated in the same way as if the driver is found to have consumed alcohol.
It is worth noting that Vasilis Bisbikis was never breathalyzed as 24 hours had passed since the time of the traffic accident.
The actor, in his statements upon leaving the Evelpidon, claimed that he had not consumed alcohol and was not speeding, but simply lost control of his vehicle. He also emphasizes that he did not leave the scene of the accident, as he informed both the insurance company and the Police.
"I didn't give up, I didn't hide, I didn't leave anyone behind. I went, I called the insurance company and I also informed the authorities. This is the truth. All I care about morally is that you understand that I didn't give up," the actor said.
The trial of the well-known actor for the offense of driver failure to comply with the obligations of article 47 of the Road Traffic Code (abandonment of vehicles) was set for October 8.
The chronicle of the traffic accident
The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday (27/9). Vasilis Bisbikis was at a large tsikoudia festival in Metamorfosi. He then took his car to his home in Filothei. Under unknown circumstances, he lost control of the large tractor he was driving and crashed into at least three vehicles and a garage door before disappearing into the streets of Filothei.
